Rural Land
The rural area of the overall wildlife sanctuary stretching from Penguin Bay around Half Way point (Anarere) to the northern beach of Whareatea Bay. The rural area is surrounded on three boundaries by a Department of Conservation 20,000 acre native reserve. Within this area will live and work those charged with the conservation, restoration and care of the native Flora and Fauna of Whareatea and surrounding areas. The sanctuary area of natural appreciation and wonder for all those of Whareatea.
